ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A new jazz performance and education center in St. Louis started construction Monday.

The $10 million project involves remodeling Jazz at the Bistro on Washington Avenue and combining it with a neighboring space.

Leaders with Jazz St. Louis, a local non-profit organization, hope this will make Grand Center a global hub for the jazz world.

If all goes as planned, the club will reopen in October.
