ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) – Six Flags St. Louis opened more than two and a half hours late Thursday due to a power outage.

Guests arrived early at the 10 a.m. opening but had to wait as workers couldn't admit them into the park. Ameren Missouri worked to fix the issue, which was resolved.

According to the park's Facebook page, some rides could still be delayed in opening due to the outage.

Hurricane Harbor, which is the water park, will not open at all Thursday.

Several relatives and waiting guests took to social media to vent their frustration of the story.

One person wrote on the park's Facebook page, "My kids are out there waiting, and no one is updating with anything even remotely accurate. Let people go on home if you cannot open soon. How many people have wasted a day and gas for nothing?"
