COLUMBIA, Mo. - There's new information on the demolition of an apartment complex on the Mizzou campus.

The University of Missouri will start taking bids next week to tear down the University Village Apartments. The demolition is in response to a deadly walkway collapse that killed a Columbia firefighter back in February.

Engineers have declared the buildings safe, but the university has decided to tear it down anyway.

Students have until June 30 to move out.
