ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Safety House has one primary mission and that is to protect families and their children in cases of residential fires and other serious emergencies.
Built in 2010, the top notch facility is a state-of-the-art learning center that provides classroom and hands-on education for children and their parents in how to deal with residential fires, natural disaster and other various emergencies.
The curriculum emphasizes the importance of a family escape and emergency communications plan. Children and their families learn by doing at Safety House.
They are given a detailed understanding of the working and methods of a modern fire district, and how that can serve as a valuable asset for their family. In partnership with a major pediatric hospital, the important lesson continue with topics like poison control and infant emergencies.
