ST. LOUIS – Legendary St. Louis DJ Lou "Fatha" Thimes has died.

Thimes was synonymous with the blues in St. Louis, and worked for decades on local radio stations.

A couple of years ago, his family opened a barbeque restaurant in the heart of North city, and the signature burger, called a "Suey," is named after one of his classic radio catch-phrases.

The family dealt with tragedy a few years ago when Thimes' daughter, Patrice, was shot and killed inside of the car. The rest of the family, including Thimes' other daughter, jazz singer Denise Thimes, opened the restaurant in honor of her life.

Lou "Fatha" Thimes was 85-years-old.
