ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is hosting a free summer safety camp for children six to 9-years-old.
Three one-week camps each have 15 spaces available for students who will be taught life lessons by St. Louis police officers, firefighters, SLMPD Citizens Academy, Missouri Regional Poison Control Center employees, all while having fun. Lessons will include Officer Friendly, fire and gun safety, home alone safety, street smarts and bicycle safety, vehicle safety, and proper use of 911.
Campers will also get to meet police Chief Sam Dotson and fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson.
Applications for the camp can be found on the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's website and must be submitted by Saturday, June 28.
