HERCULANEUM, Mo. – A few years ago 16 people filed a lawsuit claiming they suffered from extensive lead poisoning from the Doe Run lead smelting plant in Herculaneum.

A jury found all three former owners at fault, and the residents were awarded $358million.

On Tuesday, the judgment against one of those owners, Fluor Corporation, was overturned. An appeals court ruled there were errors in jury instructions, and they tossed out Fluor's $240 million portion of the judgment.
