CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – Dozens of swimmers hit the water in Chesterfield Friday in an attempt to break a world record.

About 60 kids and 20 instructors showed up at the Little Fishes Swim School in Chesterfield to take part in the World's Largest Swimming Lesson. They joined tens of thousands of people in cities around the globe to set a new Guinness World Record for a swim lesson.

While the kids had fun, the event is also meant to remind parents of the dangers of drowning and how important it is for children to learn to swim.
