DE SOTO, Mo. – Crews are searching for a black bear after multiple reports of sightings around De Soto, according to authorities.

The bear has been seen at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Highway 21, according to the Jefferson County Leader.

De Soto police and animal control are currently tracking the bear throughout the town, Dan Zarlenga with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources said.

Authorities hope to get the bear to leave town without physically removing it, but if that doesn't work, then the plan will be to use a tranquilizer to safely remove the bear.
