ST. LOUIS – City of St. Louis police will take a historic vote Wednesday.

The police union will vote on a proposed three-year contract with the city. It would be the first contract since Missourians approved the city's takeover of the department.

Before that, a state-appointed board of commissioners had been in charge since before the Civil War.
