ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A couple found dead in their burning north St. Louis County home died from smoke inhalation, police said Sunday.

St. Louis County police officers were responding to a medical emergency call on Friday when they discovered a fire at the home on Crawford Road.

Firefighters discovered the bodies of James "Maurice" and Deloria Word after the flames were put out.

Authorities do not suspect foul play, but have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
