ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - After three days of fireworks and fun, Fair St. Louis has come to a close in Forest Park.

Many people living near the festival actually had good things to say about it, too.

Before Thursday, some residents living directly west of Forest Park in the De Mun neighborhood were worried the fair may impact parking and travel. However, resident Dale Strahan said he was pleasantly surprised.

"I was expecting a lot worse," he said.

On Saturday, the final day of the fair, there were plenty of parking spots around the neighborhood. Strahan said the detour signs placed around the park were a big help.

Heather McPherson also told NewsChannel 5, she did not see a lot of people wandering around her streets either.

"I thought the coffee shop or the restaurant on our street would be busier than usual," she said. "But, it didn't seem that way to me."

A few people in the neighborhood said they wouldn't mind the event actually coming back to the park. The McPhersons said it was convenient having it so close to their home.
