ST. LOUIS COUNTY – The filing deadline for 2014 appeals to the St. Louis County Board of Equalization for property owners who disagree with the county assessor's estimate of the value of their property is quickly approaching. The deadline is Monday, July 14.

Paperless appeals can be filed online through the county's website. Supporting documentation can be uploaded if the challenger waives the right to attend their appeal hearing.

Paper appeal forms can be downloaded through the county's website. The BOE office is located on the second floor of 41 South Central Avenue in Clayton.

Residential and agricultural appeal forms can be obtained through the county's satellite offices:
- 21 Village Square Shopping center, Hazelwood, Mo. 63042
- 74 Clarkson Wilson Center, Chesterfield, Mo. 63017
- Keller Plaza, 4546 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63129

All appeals must be received or postmarked by July 14, 2014. Late filings cannot be accepted by the Board of Equalization. The deadline is set by state law as the second Monday in July and cannot be extended.

St. Louis County is offering Property Owner Advocates to help residential property owners file appeals. Help from an advocate can be requested by leaving a message on the hotline at 314-615-4611, emailing advocate@stlouisco.com, or through the assessor's appraisal staff at 314-615-4230.
