ST. LOUIS - The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri filed suit Wednesday against St. Louis County, alleging the county denied a Sunshine Law request for records regarding an embezzlement case. The suspect in that case, Edward Mueth, committed suicide days after being accused.

In a letter to St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, U.S. Attorney Richard Callahan said the county did not have the authority to release any FBI reports.
