ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - A grocery store chain is expanding into the St. Louis area.

Unless you have a student at Mizzou, you probably haven't heard of Lucky's Market.

Lucky's Market is located at Clarkson and Clayton roads. It recently opened in Columbia, Mo., and the company said they decided to move into West County after a Mizzou parent reached out to them on social media, saying it would be a great place for this grocery store.

About 90 percent of the store is made up of natural and organic food, but they also carry items like Coca Cola and Pepsi.

Regional Director of Operations Joshua Lydick said if he had to compare Lucky's Market to another chain, it would be a mixture of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

Lucky's Market started in Boulder, Colo., and Ellisville will be the seventh U.S. location.

Lydick said, "We're going to be very competitively priced, even on natural and organic items. We want you to be able to walk in, we want you to be able to afford healthy food."

Lucky's Market opens in Ellisville Wednesday, July 30. The Rock Hill store is expected to open at the beginning of next year, and according to the company, they are looking to add more stores in the St. Louis area in the future.
