ST. LOUIS - The Metro Taxicab Commission says it has paved the way for Uber to operate in St. Louis. Now, they say all the ride-sharing service needs to do is apply for a permit.
On Tuesday, the MTC approved new regulations to appease Uber's requests. Most notably, they tabled a proposed $25 minimum fare for premium sedans. The rule changes would only help Uber's premium black-car services.
Its lower cost model, called Uber-X, would still be banned, and so would Uber's competitor, Lyft.
