EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - Construction on a new Mississippi River port has been delayed.

Crews were supposed to break ground Thursday on the Port of East St. Louis, but contractors pushed that groundbreaking to August 14. No reason was given.

When finished, the 200-acre site will be home to docks, cargo cranes, and warehouses.
