ST. LOUIS – The World Naked Bike Ride was back in St. Louis Saturday night!
The seventh annual clothing-optional event not only celebrates cycling and the human body, but also raises money for cyclists' rights. Though nudity was encouraged, it was not required. The motto for the ride was " go as bare as you dare."
Riders met on Manchester in The Grove, and headed out at 7 p.m. with a police escort leading the pack. Riders rolled through a 12-mile loop going through South Grand, Cherokee, Lafayette Square, Soulard, Washington Avenue, and ended back at The Grove.
This skin-baring ride started locally in 2008, and has grown to one of the largest in the world, with approximately 1,300 riders participants last year.
