ST. LOUIS - Some South County parents are worried about their children's health.

Rogers Elementary is located next to an Ameren coal burning plant. Tonight parents asked the Mehlville School Board to agree to a resolution that encourages Ameren Missouri to phase out its use of coal as quickly as possible. The board voted 7 to 0 against the resolution.

Ameren has agreed to close the plant because they say it's old, but that won't happen until the year 2022.
