ST. LOUIS – A concert celebrating the life of 18-year-old Michael Brown will be held Wednesday night, featuring a Ferguson singer.

Antonio French, alderman for St. Louis' 21st Ward, says the free concert will begin at 6 p.m. in O'Fallon Park.

Brian Owens, who describes himself as an American soul artist, has been scheduled to perform at the O'Fallon Park Concert Series for months, but the concert will now become a celebration for Brown.

Owens says he is dedicating his performance to "PEACE, NON-VIOLENCE and in memory of ALL of the people - known and unknown - who continue to lose their lives senselessly."

Brown was unarmed when he was killed Saturday afternoon by a Ferguson police officer.
