ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Governor Jay Nixon and Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson each spoke briefly regarding the security of Ferguson and its protests.

Captain Johnson reported that no arrests or problems occurred during Thursday night's protests, and he hoped it would continue.

"I don't want us to go and burn down our own community," he said. "We saw what it should be, what it could be and what it will be."

Governor Nixon addressed the Michael Brown investigation and said that the focus of the investigation remains on finding out how and why Brown was killed.

"There are a lot of steps between now and when justice is served," he said. "New facts are out, but that's not the full picture of facts."

Friday morning, Ferguson Police Chief released the name of the officer involved in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.
