Thousands of jars of ground oregano have been recalled over concerns of salmonella contamination.

McCormick has voluntarily recalled its 0.75 ounce bottles with "best by" dates of Aug. 21 16 H and Aug. 22 16 H. The recall doesn't affect other ground, whole, or oregano leaves products.

The Food and Drug Administration says the oregano was shipped to 41 states, including Missouri and Illinois. It was also shipped internationally.

If you have an affected jar of oregano, throw it away and call McCormick Consumer Affairs at 1-800-632-5847 for a replacement or refund.
