ST. LOUIS COUNTY - As back to school gets pushed back in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, some volunteers are stepping up to give kids a place to learn.

NewsChannel 5 found some teachers welcoming students to the Ferguson Public Library. It's a place where young people can be with friends and take part in educational activities like reading or arts and crafts.

As of now, Ferguson-Florissant schools won't open until next Monday, but the teachers who are volunteering here have to head back to work the next couple of days, and could sure use some help.

"I'm hoping to get enough parent volunteers and other teacher volunteers who maybe aren't in this district or are retired to help with this," said Carrie Pace.

If you would like to help out, you can stop by the Ferguson Public Library at 35 north Florissant Road Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
