ST. LOUIS COUNTY - St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch is attempting to take the Michael Brown case before the grand jury this week.

If that happens, the case would be presented to the panel of 12 jurors Wednesday, during a regular scheduled weekly hearing.

But the grand jury process could take weeks or months, and if charges are filed, they likely won't come Wednesday.

We wanted to know more about the grand jury process, so we invited Susan McGraugh, an associate professor of law at Saint Louis University Law School, to First @ 4 Tuesday to explain why the process can take so long.
