FERGUSON, Mo. – While the community of Ferguson, Mo. has been displayed across national news headlines for days, another national publication has put a new spotlight on the suburb.
TIME magazine profiles the town as well as the events surrounding the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. A Ferguson police officer shot the unarmed teen August 9 following a struggle. Since that time, protests and violent outbreaks have run rampant in the town and been a part of daily headlines.
The TIME piece, written by David Von Drehle and Alex Altman for its Sept. 1 issue, dissects the recent events, the town as well as examines the relationship between police and the public in the small community.
