FERGUSON, Mo. – West Florissant Avenue returned to somewhat of a new normal Friday. The street was open to passing cars, and there were only a few protesters walking up and down the streets.

In the media staging area at W. Florissant and Chambers, the number of out-of-town journalists dropped dramatically. And rather than police standing along the sides of the road, they stayed in their vehicles, periodically patrolling W. Florissant.

The protesters and activists who did remain, were mostly from the Ferguson area. One carried a sign reading, "We Will Survive." They told NewsChannel 5 now that their city is starting to return to normal, it is time to join together as an entire community to rebuild.
