ST. LOUIS COUNTY - In light of the situation in Ferguson, the St. Louis County Police Department is committed to having its officers wear body cameras.

They are in the process of field testing the equipment, and Ellisville City Council voted unanimously in favor of the body cameras last Wednesday.

A local man also is getting some national attention after addressing the issue himself.

Kirk Siefert, 22, of Fenton started an online petition to get officers to wear the body cameras after Michael Brown's death. The petition had more that 66,000 signatures. The petition can be found on the Change.org website.
