ST. LOUIS - Members of the St. Louis Classical Guitar Society (SLCGS) presented 16 new guitars to Normandy High School, Wednesday.

The instruments will be used in Adam Yanick's classical guitar class, which is being offered for the first time this year.

The guitars and accessories, costing a total of $2,400, were purchased with donations from the St. Louis Community Foundation's Papendick Fund, Midwest Bank Centre, Chris Kremeyer, CEO of Beyond Housing, and Margaret Gilleo, SLCGS board member.

SLCGS president, William Ash, says the society will provide instructional support to Yanick's class, and hopes the students will learn to appreciate classical guitar music and playing as a group.

SLCGS donated 12 guitars to Normandy Middle Schools music program last year.
