ST. LOUIS – Thousands are without power on both sides of the Mississippi River after storms moved through the area Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Early Tuesday morning, approximately 9,000 Ameren customers were without power in Missouri and Illinois. By 7:45 a.m. the numbers were down to 250 customers in Illinois and 3,000 in Missouri.
A spokesperson for Ameren Missouri says should be restored by Tuesday afternoon. Crews are out in the bi-state working to fix the problem.
There are no streetlights or traffic signals operating on some of the roadways. Drivers should also look out for limbs and trees down in the roadways. There's also a lot of ponding on roads across the area.
