ST. LOUIS - The seats might be empty, the base paths less traveled, but Busch Stadium is actually quite busy this time of year.
The phones never stop ringing and Julia Row, the director of special events, is constantly planning.
"We really make use of everyday that the team's not playing here," Row explains.
In 2013, Busch Stadium hosted about 500 events.
"We have about 35 weddings each year. So people will have their ceremonies right at home plate and have their reception here, but we also do showers or engagement parties," Row points out.
They host holiday parties, rehearsal dinners and even corporate meetings.
"We have 17 different distinct venues," Row adds.
There's the Champions Club where you can pose with one of the World Championship trophies and the Bank of America Club.
"This is really popular for smaller scale events it has a fabulous view of the field and it's perfect for a more intimate gathering," Row says showing us around.
There's the Cardinals Club
"It really is a more traditional type feel," Row explains.
And the Redbird Club where the walls are covered in a custom made wallpaper featuring Bill Dewitt Jr.'s private collection of baseball cards. If you think that's cool just imagine throwing a party in the clubhouse.
"It's a really exclusive space that most people never get to see much less have an event in here," Row adds.
All of these spaces are filled with food that's actually prepared on site and they do much more than hot dogs.
So it might not be the kind of action we're used to, but in the scheme of event planning Julia Row and her team knock it out of the park year round.
