Mt. Olive (KSDK) - It's back to school for students in Mount Olive Monday morning.
Teachers and the school district have come to a tentative agreement ending a week-long strike. Teachers ratified it Sunday afternoon.
The school board votes on it Wednesday, and the district isn't releasing details about the deal until then. But teachers tell us it reinstates retirement incentives; eliminates a proposal for a two-tier salary system, which would have meant new teachers would make less money than current teachers in the district; and it includes the first pay raise since 2009.
Teachers tell us the deal also includes making up three of the five school days they missed because of the strike.
