BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Two brothers were driven from the mobile home overnight following a fire that gutted their trailer, the Northwest Fire Department said.

According to the fire department, the fire happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Della Drive in the Dutch Hollow Village.

The two men, both in their 50s, awoke to the smell of smoke and got out of the mobile home on their own. One of the men later admitted to smoking in bed when he fell asleep. When firefighters arrived, two oxygen tanks exploded.

No one was hurt, but the brothers told firefighters their puppy had gone missing. The dog has not been found.

Although the exterior of the mobile home remains intact, the inside of the residence was gutted.
