(KSDK) - Shattered glass is becoming a common sight in two Metro East towns. Vandals spent Thursday and Friday nights using a BB gun to shoot out windows in O'Fallon and Shiloh, Ill.

A handful of people in Shiloh woke up on Saturday to find their car windows blown out. O'Fallon police said they've seen 15-20 similar cases in their town.

Pete Mode's son owns one of three cars targeted along Archview Drive in Shiloh.

"It is frustrating," Mode said. "It was probably some kids, but we'll just have to get it repaired and move on."

Replacing the window will cost Mode almost $200.

Michelle Fetters lives in the neighborhood next to Mode's. Multiple cars were shot on her block as well.

"It is very aggravating because we haven't done anything," Fetters said. "It's summertime and we're trying to enjoy our summer, and we have to stop and get out cars fixed now."

Fetters said what's more disturbing is that a few homes also had windows shot out, leaving victims to wonder what the next few nights might bring.

"It's a huge concern. I just hope they won't do any more damage because there was a lot of damage done last night," Fetters said.

Shiloh and O'Fallon Police haven't officially linked the crimes between their towns. But they are working together on these cases.

Right now investigators don't have much to go on so they're asking anyone with information to call one of their departments. You can reach O'Fallon Police Department at 618-624-4545 and Shiloh Police Department at 618-632-9047.
