FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - Police in Fairview Heights are reminding residents to keep their car doors locked and remove valuables from their vehicles following a recent rash of break-ins.

According to Lt. Mike Hoguet, a spokesman for the Fairview Heights Police Department, 11 break-ins occurred overnight over the past few days in the St. Clair Road/Old Lincoln Trail and Weinel Drive/Fairview Drive neighborhoods.

Most of the vehicles were unlocked, and many victims had small amounts of money or loose change and personal items stolen.
