SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Managers of two Illinois state fairs have been fined for soliciting and accepting free beer tickets for the events.

Executive Inspector General Ricardo Meza's office released a report Monday detailing violations against Amy Bliefnick and John Rednour. Bliefnick is manager of the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and Rednour was manager of the DuQuoin State Fair before resigning to work for his family's bank.

Meza says Rednour asked a beer vendor in 2012 to give him 1,000-2,000 tickets. And Meza says Bliefnick accepted at least 120 tickets last year. Tickets are worth about $4.

Bliefnick was fined $1,000 and suspended for two days without pay. Rednour was fined $5,000.

Rednour says he used the tickets for promotions. Bliefnick didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
