SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A Harvard, Illinois-based packing company recalled more than 400 pounds of uninspected meat products Monday.

The ham, hocks, and bacon products were sold under the label "Farmer Nicks LLC" and "Jones Packing LLC," bearing the establishment number "EST. 21783" inside the Illinois Mark of Inspection. Production dates range from March to July 2014.

Specific package information is as follows:

· 3-4 lb. packages labeled "ham"

· 1 lb. packages labeled "bacon," "pepper bacon," "jowl bacon," "maple bacon," "apple bacon," "pepper jowl bacon," "apple jowl bacon" and "maple jowl bacon"

· 1 lb. packages labeled "pepper jowl"

· 1-2 lb. packages labeled "hocks"

State and federal regulations require any meat products not inspected be deemed unfit for human consumption and recalled. Such inspections are necessary to eliminate potential risks from biological, chemical, and physical hazards during production.

Fortunately, the Illinois Department of Agriculture has received no reports of illness due to consumption of these products.

Consumers with questions about the recall are encouraged to contact Jones Packing LLC at 815-943-4488.
