ALTON, Ill. - The Alton Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected in a pair of recent shootings in the Alton area of a 24-hour period.

According to Officer Emily Hejna, a police spokeswoman, the first incident occurred Monday at 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of Taylor Street. Police say a man fired a gun at a vehicle with people inside it. No one was injured, but the car was damaged.

The second incident happened Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the 1900 block of Central Avenue. A 17-year-old was shot in the leg. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators identified 19-year-old Brandon McGee as their primary suspect. He's been charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. His bail was set at $100,000 for each incident.

Anybody with information on McGee's whereabouts is asked to contact Alton Police Department at 618-463-3505 or by dialing 911. McGee should be considered armed and dangerous.
