The U.S. military isn't taking any chances with Santa's mission this year.
The popular NORAD Tracks Santa website, sponsored by the North American Aerospace Command, will show U.S. fighter jets accompanying Santa's reindeer convoy around the world this year, a video trailer shows.
Rest assured, Rudolph maintains his traditional role at the front of the reindeer pack.
NORAD assumed command of tracking Santa in 1958, fielding calls and e-mails from excited children and families eager for news
In another tongue-in-cheek video showing NORAD gearing up for a test flight by Santa before the real thing Dec. 24, an official is heard saying, "Intel can confirm that Jack Frost and the Abominable Snowman will not be a threat during the test flight."
No word on whether the Easter Bunny will have military backup.
