New York (WPIX/CNN) - Two young brothers killed in Superstorm Sandy were laid to rest in New York Friday.

Four-year-old Brandon Moore and his two-year-old brother Connor Moore were swept from their mother's arms by powerful floodwaters.

Their bodies were found three days later not far from the place where their mother last saw them alive.

The brothers were buried in a single coffin.

The tragedy of their deaths is compounded by the fact that their mother Glenda says she tried to seek shelter from the storm at a stranger's house in Staten Island.

But she says the man wouldn't allow the family to come inside.

The man denies ever seeing the family.
