President Obama's traditional travel following his State of the Union speech takes a viral twist this year.

On Friday, Jan. 31, three days after his address to Congress, Obama will take questions from people around the country in what Google is promoting as the first "Presidential Hangout Road Trip."

Obama "will 'travel' the country in a virtual whistlestop tour," says an item on the Google blog. "He'll hop into Google+ Hangouts with people from across the United States to answer their questions and hear their thoughts about the topics he addressed in his speech."

Prospective questioners are asked to "record a 60-second video with your name, location, a bit about yourself and the question you'd like to ask."

The White House has not announced where Obama will actually travel after his State of the Union address, which will be delivered Tuesday night.
