TAMPA, Fla. (WTSP) - A Tampa man is behind bars after neighbors say they saw him having sex with a dog in his yard.
Police were flagged down on Tuesday afternoon by witnesses who told them they saw 57-year-old Bernard Marsonek engaged in a sexual act with a pit bull.
When officers arrived at the home on North Marks Street, they were greeted by a small crowd of residents who were disturbed by their neighbor's activity with the dog. Several said they told Marsonek to stop, but he ignored their commands.
Officers found Marsonek inside his home, where they began to interview him. A search warrant was executed, and police seized a gun and ammunition from Marsonek, who is a convicted felon.
Animal services were called to the home, where they removed eight large pit bulls.
Marsonek was arrested on two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm, animal cruelty, and sexual activity involving animals.
