WASHINGTON - Our Mike Bush just got back from Washington, where he met with President Barack Obama to talk about Crimea, health care, and more.

NewsChannel 5 was one of a handful of local TV stations from across the country invited to the White House. While we were there, we asked NBC's chief Washington correspondent, Chuck Todd, about why he thought the president was reaching out to local news instead of the traditional national reporters.

Click the video player above to hear Todd's response.

We will have much more from Bush's trip to Washington over the coming days.
