Officials locked down the White House for the second time this week on Thursday, this time because two people threw a pair of suspicious packages over the fence.

The incidents occured at both the north and south fences, the Secret Service, and two men were in custody.

President Obama was in California at the time of the incident.

Officials were examining the packages as of mid-afternoon Thursday.

On Tuesday, the Secret Service sealed off the executive mansion and ordered people indoors after an authorized vehicle entered an outer security perimeter.
