About 50,000 gallons of oil have spilled onto a Los Angeles street after a pipe burst, the Los Angeles Fire Department said Thursday. The oil was reported to be knee-deep in some places in an area covering a half-mile in the West Glendale area.

The leak from a 20-inch pipe on West San Fernando Road was reported just after midnight local time, and the oil line was remotely shut off, on West San Fernando Road. No injuries were reported. A haz-mat team was sent to the spill site.

The oil was affecting a few businesses including a nightclub in the area, the LAFD said.
