SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Mourners at a wake in Puerto Rico got to say goodbye to a woman in a unique way.
Before Georgina Lloren died, she told her daughter she wanted to take part in her own wake.
When the 80-year-old died Sunday of natural causes, her daughter Miriam knew she had to do something unique. So, Georgina was placed in her favorite rocking chair, wearing her wedding dress, in the center of the event. She was also surrounded by plants and flowers.
Guests filed past saying their final farewells.
"She wanted her wake to be like that. She never liked being put in a coffin. She even wanted to wear roller skates! But, we put shoes that go better with the dress, because that's the dress from when she got married and she kept it for a long time so that they would put it on her later," said Dolores Lamboy.
The wake took place at a San Juan funeral home that's well-known for putting on unusual, themed wakes.
