DAYTONA, Florida (WKMG) - Eighteen-year-old Raymond Frolander said nothing as he went before a judge, but his face may have said it all.

Black eyes, bruises and a busted lip after he was beaten by the father of the child he's accused of molesting.

"I just walked in and found a grown man molesting my son, and I've got him in a bloody puddle for you right now officer." That father told a 911 operator he walked into his Holly Hill apartment just after midnight and caught Frolander with his 11-year-old son. We're not showing which apartment to protect the child's identity.

"He's nice and knocked out on the floor for you. I drug him into the living room."

"Send him an ambulance. He's going to need one."

In the 911 call, the father says he trusted Frolander who had been alone with his child before.

"He's curled into the fetal position in a puddle of blood on my floor, and I loved him up until 15 minutes ago."

The 11-year-old later told child protective investigators that Frolander has molested him since he was 8 years old.

"You have someone you trust around your son, an 18-year-old person who you trust around your son, the basic instinct to protect your kid, and the anger as a father, I understand what he was doing." Daytona Police Chief Michael Chitwood said.

The suspect is being held without bail. The arrest affidavit says Frolander admitted the abuse.

As for the father possibly facing criminal charges, the chief says it won't happen because the father saw a crime being committed against his child, and he has the right to protect his child.
