While the first Ebola patient has arrived in Atlanta to begin treatment at Emory, the second American infected with the virus is awaiting her turn.
Like Dr. Kent Brantly, Nancy Writebol, of Charlotte, is in serious condition in Liberia, according to Samaritan's Purse.
The North Carolina charity is paying for both Writebol and Brantly's travel and medical care.
Writebol was in Liberia working on behalf of the faith group Service in Mission.
It is believed the Gulfstream jet which brought Brantly to Atlanta will be used again to bring Writebol back to America within a few days.
