Elko, Nevada (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is getting support from former foe Rick Perry.

Romney and Perry squared off for the Republican presidential nomination, but it seems they are past their differences.

On Friday, the Texas governor will make his first campaign appearance on Romney's behalf.

Perry will headline the opening of a Romney campaign field office in Elko, Nevada.

Romney will not be at the event.

Perry dropped out of the GOP race in January and endorsed Newt Gingrich before backing Romney.
