ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The Missouri Department of Transportation will shut down all lanes of Interstate 70 between Pine and the Poplar Street Bridge this weekend.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, the highway will be closed in both directions as a part of the Park over the Highway Project, which will create a park near the Gateway Arch.

MoDOT advises drivers traveling eastbound to take the Pine Street exit and follow southbound Memorial Drive to get on Poplar Street Bridge or Interstate 55/44. For westbound travelers, MoDOT advisers using the exit onto northbound Memorial Drive and take the 3rd Street ramp to westbound I-70.

Eads Bridge will also be closed during this time.

All lanes of the highway are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
