ST. LOUIS – Part of eastbound Interstate 64 will close this weekend so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace the driving surface on the bridge over Vandeventer.
Ramps from McCausland, Clayton/Skinker, Hampton, Kingshighway, and Papin to eastbound I-64 will close at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. Highway lanes will start to close at 9 p.m. at Big Bend. The highway will close completely from Tower Grove to Vandeventer.
Ramps from eastbound I-64 to Hampton, Kingshighway, and Tower Grove will remain open. Drivers can use Hampton to eastbound I-44 to detour around the closure.
The closure will cause significant backups for drivers headed to Forest Park for LouFest. Drivers who leave the concert and want to head east should avoid I-64.
MoDOT plans to reopen all lanes and ramps by 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8.
